More Stunning Waterfront Communities in Southwest Florida

Recently, we saw how Southwest Florida has a diverse set of waterfront communities. From upscale to quaint, these areas each have a charm and character that’s all their own. Cape Coral, Charlotte Harbor… each of the SWFL communities we looked at offers access to the water either directly in your own backyard or just a short drive away. But we’re not done yet! In fact, you’re going to be amazed at how many options you have when it comes to waterfront communities in Southwest Florida. Let’s start at the northern tip of Southwest Florida and work our way down.

Anna Maria Island

As a community, Anna Maria Island is the perfect mix of quaint, small town charm but with the island lifestyle. Best of all, you’re surrounded by some of the best fishing and boating in the entire world. I also love several of the small businesses in the center of the island.

Ellenton

This waterfront community in Southwest Florida offers access to the Manatee River. Not only that, but it has a number of attractive, yet affordable, properties as well. The area is definitely getting a name for itself, especially with the nearby Ellenton shopping.

Longboat Key

There’s one big reason that I love Longboat Key—the fact that its off-the-beaten-path, but with lovely properties. Of course, it also doesn’t hurt that this waterfront community has miles and miles of pristine shores as well.

Siesta Key

You may have heard of Siesta Key. Unlike Longboat Key, it’s a little more well-known, and even world-recognized for its beaches. Still, the community is small and has a relaxed lifestyle that attracts many moving from up north. My favorite aspect is a few of the restaurants in this area, but also the options when it comes to property.

Sanibel Island

Slightly upscale, but plenty small town, Sanibel Island is Captiva’s sister. Not only does this waterfront community in have access to wildlife sanctuaries like the Ding, but also the phenomenal beaches. There are many, and all have their own distinct feel. SWFL property can be in a higher range here, but at a more affordable rate than say, Captiva Island.

Venice

And last on our list, we have Venice, Florida. From Golden Beach to Gulf Shores, this waterfront community in Southwest Florida has many properties in the luxury range. At the same time, there are properties that are more modestly priced available as well.

Ready to consider your options for waterfront communities in Southwest Florida? I’d be happy to help you compare properties and find your next dream home!
