Recently, we saw how Southwest Florida has an almost endless supply of fun activities. And for snowbirds, retirees, and families, having a kid-friendly list of them at your fingertips can be a lifesaver. But we’re not done yet! Truthfully, our area has many, many activities that are great for kids of all ages. Best of all, many of them are educational in a number of ways. But without further ado, here’s more activities to do with your kids and grandkids in our beautiful area!
Take them to the bookstore or library
Even though technology has gained a foothold in just about all our lives, regular old books still offer lots of adventure. Plus, many bookstores and libraries have additional activities like lectures and more.
Visit a museum
From the Ringling to the Golisano Children’s Museum, Southwest Florida has many world-class museums to visit. And because they each have their own focus, you get a new experience with each one.
Go on a scavenger hunt
This one is simple and affordable. All you need is your own creativity. Children of almost any age love to hunt down different items, and you could even make it a community event!
Create your own art show
To get the kids creating themselves, put on your own art show. You could even set up a room in your home as their “gallery!”
Stop by your local fire station
For something unique, community-oriented, and totally fun, take the kids by the fire station. You’ll find that many stations welcome young people who are curious about what they do to make our areas safer.
Take a picnic
With all the wonderful weather we have in Southwest Florida, plus all the amazing parks, taking a picnic is also a low-cost activity. You can even have the kids help with the meal planning!
Play horse shoes in the backyard
We Floridians love to enjoy our backyards. And when you own Southwest Florida real estate, you can do entertaining activities like horse shoes. It’s not a hard game to set up and kids really take to the challenge.
Enjoy fresh watermelon
Throughout the different seasons, you can appreciate all sorts of fresh fruits in Florida. Locally grown strawberries, watermelon and mangos. There’s a long list of tasty choices.
Volunteer at a local organization
At Records Results, we’re not just Southwest Florida real estate agents. We’re also part of the community in a big way. And we always recommend giving back by volunteering at one of our many local organizations. Think of how you can get the children involved. Creating a sense of community involvement at a young age is priceless.
