As a real estate agent in Southwest Florida, I’ve worked with countless buyers and sellers to help them attain their real estate goals. And for new homebuyers I always recommend keeping a list of vendors on-hand. This list will come in very handy when issues arise…and unfortunately, I can’t promise you that they won’t! For your list you’re looking for reliable, trustworthy companies. These are just a few of the vendors you’ll want to add to that list:
Plumber
Because plumbing problems can wreak havoc on a home, a good plumber is probably the first to add to your list. Make sure to search out someone who has a good community reputation, as it can make all the difference when it comes to plumbing services. While other services might be able to wait a day or two, getting a plumber on short notice can be a big help.
Electrician
For many of us, tackling electric issues can seem a bit…overwhelming. After all, this service comes with its own set of risks, and if you aren’t experienced, you really don’t want to be messing around with it. For that reason, I always recommend finding a respected electrician.
General Handyman
I also like to recommend a general handyman in addition to a plumber or electrician. Whether you want to install a new garage door opener or swap out your front door, a handyman can be a lifesaver for these types of more general projects.
AC Servicing Company
When it comes to Southwest Florida real estate, you can imagine that we take AC repair and maintenance pretty seriously. Plus, when it comes to your home, a trustworthy company will help you make the best decision for your situation, instead of just trying to force a new unit on you every single time.
Roofer
With our occasional storms, I also like to recommend keeping the contact details of a good roofer on hand. Many people only think of their roof when something big happens or they know it’s nearing the end of its life. But in reality, even minor issues can use the skilled hand of a professional.
Lawncare
You can probably imagine how quickly our grass grows locally with all our summer showers! If you want your dream home to look its best, inside and out, and you don’t have the time to do it yourself, a lawn care service company can help care for your plants and make landscaping recommendations.
Fence Installer
After Hurricane Irma, many residents in our area had a panel or two that had been knocked down. If you’re a bit of a handyman putting up new ones can be a rewarding afternoon project. But if you’re pressed for time or simply want to get the job done quickly, a fence installer is another great addition to your vendor list.
Real Estate Agent
Finally, I always suggest keeping your real estate agent’s name handy. This is because dedicated agents are part of their communities. What does that entail exactly? They can help you get to know the area if you’re new or even help you fill your vendor list with names and numbers.
In fact, as a real estate agent in Southwest Florida, I pride myself in helping to connect my clients with everything in our area. I’d be happy to be your trusted source for SWFL real estate!
