When you think of autumn-time, you might think that Southwest Florida doesn’t experience a change of seasons. But we do! It might come as a surprise to find out that locals are thrilled when the summer weather breaks a bit and the holiday season starts to come around.
One of the best pastimes for the locals, and probably all over the US, is decorating for fall. And as your trusted source for all aspects of Southwest Florida, I’ve put together this quick list of Pinterest inspirations to get you started. (Make sure you log in to enjoy the full experience) This way, your home will be incredibly stunning for the season, whether you’re just about to buy or you’re a longtime local.
While we might not have many fireplaces here in Southwest Florida, many SWFL homes come with attractive mantels. Moreover, this is an excellent place to start when decorating for autumn. A string of garland, a fall-time candle or two, and a cute sign is all you need!
Another equally important (and common) decoration is your centerpiece. An autumn centerpiece can elevate the mood and put guests in the spirit. I love this farmhouse decoration for its simplicity and ease of setup.
Speaking of simplicity and easy to set up, this centerpiece idea is really pretty. And it doesn’t get any more straightforward than finding an item that makes you feel the holiday spirit… and then showing it off! This one reminds me of how the holidays are filled with warm meals, friends and family.
Turning to other decorations, I love the idea of a seasonal coffee bar. Not only is it completely functional for entertaining guests, it brings in that holiday mood with delicious aromas. Being able to serve guests tasty beverages that make them feel autumn is here is a welcoming addition to any home.
The Stairway of Your SWFL Home
However, let’s not forget more subtle areas of your home. The staircase, either inside or outside, is one often overlooked spot that can be made that much more attractive during autumn. Grabbing a handful or two of pumpkins can go a long way to creating a mood that’s fun and festive.
Now, I’m a huge fan of a creative entryway to your home. This one captures the season just right with a mix of slightly spooky, but still rustic and with a general autumn-feel. You can probably tell that I love decorations that make guests feel at home in my SWFL home, and this one is no exception to that rule.
