5 Trendy DIY Home Projects You Can Do

For those of you who are regular readers of my blog, you know that I love a good DIY project. Whether you’re tackling minor kitchen upgrades on your own or getting really handy with a big project, your home is your own. And it can be a ton of fun to get your hands dirty, while adding your own personal touches.

On that note, I’ve rounded up a handful of really cute DIY home projects that are perfect for just about any home, in Southwest Florida or anywhere else. For this one, we’ll focus on furniture pieces that aren’t just attractive; they’re incredibly affordable to build too!

Behind-the-Sofa Bookshelf Table

It doesn’t get any simpler than this long bookshelf table that can perfectly run the length of your couch. Just take a look at the pictures! With a stunning lamp or two and some stain, you can even upgrade the look that much further. What I love best about this one is truly how quick and easy it is, making it perfect, even if you’re new to the world of DIY projects.

Saddle Seat Bar Stools

Beautiful wood stools for your bar and for just $10 a piece! I’m in love with how minimalistic, yet gorgeous these are. And the best part is just how affordable they are to build. It puts Ikea to shame! Check out the video that accompanies the article to see what’s involved.

Rustic Headboard for Your Bed

Okay, let’s get a little bit rustic. For those of you who are familiar with Ana White, she offers a lot of project plans in a farmhouse or rustic style. Many of them, including this elegant headboard, are indistinguishable from store-bought pieces, but cheap to make and pretty straightforward.

Modern Paver Planter

Let’s switch it up a bit and bring in a DIY project for the outdoors. This modern paver planter is something different and can be built with ease. Add a set of numbers to the side and a native plant, and you have a piece that gives your home in a lot of character!

Vintage Box Centerpiece

This is one of my favorites, because it gives you a chance to create a conversation piece. Plus, adding a touch of life to a room with flowers is a fabulous way to make an area feel alive. Totally simple and without much hassle, this project is probably one of the easiest on the list.

I love to hear from you. Share your favorite DIY project with everyone in the comments below!
