As a realtor one of the tools I use to stay on top of the trends for Southwest Florida real estate is browsing properties. Although I tour many properties on a monthly basis, using online tools is another one way you can gain perspective on your area. And with this knowledge, you have a strong starting point for building on your understanding of your market—wheather you’re a new investor or simply looking for a vacation home.
So, today, we’re going to take a look at 2 pieces of Southwest Florida real estate that caught my eye this month. Best of all, they both offer something a little different. So, if you’re looking to buy a house in the area, you can get an idea about your current options.
1950s Southwest Florida Real Estate with Retro Potential
For Southwest Florida real estate, you occasionally find a 1950s home that’s reasonably priced but with a lot of possibilities. This home, located in Fort Myers, is just such a property. There were a few initial aspects about this property that attracted me to it. First, the front of the home is just begging to be enhanced and has an interesting retro feel that could make for a unique, yet attractive entryway.
The home also has terrazzo flooring that appears in good condition. Terrazzo flooring and other flooring like it has been coming back in style recently, so that’s a plus. Now, the bathrooms and kitchen could use some attention, but the rest of the property, including the pool, is in good shape. And for this cost-effective price, you’re placed right near the water, close to Downtown Fort Myers and Downtown Cape Coral. Win-win!
A Quaint Property Near an Uncrowded, Stunning Beach
But let’s switch gears and look at a property a little further north in Nokomis, Florida. Properties in this area have quick access to Nokomis Beach, which is well-known among locals for its shark’s teeth and other treasures. For this area, I would want to dig into the numbers a little more, as this property is cute, but lacking a garage.
While it’s on the smaller side as well, it could be perfect for someone looking to retire to this area. The home also appears to have potential in the landscaping area, with a generous lot as one positive. The lack of pictures definitely would spur me to ask plenty of questions when I spoke to the seller’s agent, and of course, the property would need to be toured in person to discover if the pricing was in-line relative to the area.
Are you in the process of browsing Southwest Florida real estate online right now, but need an expert to help you spot your next dream home? I’m happy to be your source for everything SWFL!
